Conquering the Flat Tire

In the midst of a journey, one fine day,
A flat tire struck, much to my dismay.
The sun shone bright, not a cloud in sight,
Yet the rubber beast had lost its fight.

With a hiss and a sigh, it surrendered its air,
The wheel now deflated, a sight most rare.
I pulled to the side, not a moment too soon,
My car now crippled, like a burst balloon.

The pavement called out, mocking my fate,
As I rummaged for tools, my hands did shake.
The jack and the wrench, my trusty old friends,
Would aid me in mending this untimely end.

I huffed and I puffed, with sweat on my brow,
Lifting the car, I wondered just how.
The lug nuts released, the old tire now free,
I sighed with relief, as the new one would be.

The spare took its place, a snug fit indeed,
I tightened the nuts with deliberate speed.
A task now complete, I wiped off my face,
And stood back to admire, with a satisfied grace.

With one last look, I left the scene,
My journey continued, now slightly serene.
For though flat tires may come, and they may go,
I've conquered this foe and can face the unknown.
